Problem:
This procedure is to move the bridge back on a solid body
hard tail SG electric guitar. Low tunings and thick strings will
never
play in tune with standard manufacturing placement.
Solution:
1. Measure height to make mock bridge for intonation and new bridge
placement. Mark pickguard at back to see if it will cover new
studs.
2. Remove studs and fill holes with Rosewood dowel.
3. String up with the gauge for final set up.
4. Shape and sand mock bridge to string height and move to intonation
sweet spot.
5. Mark around mock bridge on body area of stud reinstall.
6. Drill and replace studs.
7. Replace pickguard and bridge. This will have the old holes
in the pickguard unless a new one is made from scratch.
8. String up , intonate and tune.
