DIFFUCULT
PATTERNS
Here
is a great way to pick up
new licks and get out of those
old scales
and patterns we
always play over and over again.
We have 3 examples for each.
-
.
THE
DIFFUCULT PATTERNS
- First
open the Track to hear
an amazing riff.
- Our
first reaction is that we
can't do it, yet lets look at the
method.
- Now
open the TAB or
Powertab
version.
- You
see the pattern and
the "Breakdown" to a 4
note "Lick"
- Play
each 4 note "Lick" slowly
Fingering
- Fingering
needs to be set by the most logical finger for each fret.
The finger is assigned to a fret. some are close to each
other.
Other fingerings have a "Spread". Check out the
1 - 2 - 4 and the
1 - 3 - 4 finger patterns.
Number the fingers on your hand that applies to the neck.
INDEX = 1
MIDDLE = 2
RING = 3
PINKY = 4
Then line them up to the fretted area.

DIFFICULT
NOW ?
Play the pattern thru without repeats.
Play with out a time keeping device,
( drum machine, loops, etc.)
These are usually bad ideas but
not when we are triyng too get
our bearings.
Advance to loop or machine
and you will have a remnant
of the lick in your hands.
This is a unique point that is
different for everybody.
